It’s no secret that golfers are working out more in order to get the most out of their golf swing.  But how much an impact does it really make?

The Titleist Performance Institute’s, Dr. Rose, recently took a look at Rory McIlroy’s golf swing.  After analyzing him, he found something that he rarely sees happen during the golf swing.

So what does this mean?  Well, for one it means he is able to generate an amazing amount of speed.  But the second thing is, I wonder how long his back will hold up from this “reverse” movement of his hips?  As aTitleist Certified Golf Fitness Instructor, I’ve yet to run across anyone with this much power.  He is really at an amazing level in his flexibility, stability, and range of motion.  So many golfers end up developing back painin the future, but the strength of his core musculature should help him.   If you haven’t already, take a look at the video, or you can even visit MyTPI for plenty of great tips on exercise, swing mechanics, and golf related topics.
