Knee pain when doing squats is so common, but it’s also one of the easiest exercises to correct. To put it simply, most people just do not understand the proper mechanics necessary to perform a squat properly. When they correct their mechanics, their knee pain disappears and they begin to engage their glutes. Most of the clients I meet with feel their quadriceps and knees when they first start doing squats, but once they correct their form, the way I am about to show you, their knee pain is gone and their glutes start firing. It is almost instantaneous for some clients (and others take a little longer). The important part of this to know is, once you begin to engage your glutes more and more you will use your quads and knees less, resulting in better results over the long term.
Give this a try and let me know what you think!
