There are numerous physical therapy clinics throughout the area that specialize in a range of services. We are often asked if we can perform physical therapy services for patients, and the answer varies based on the condition.
Physical therapists work on the specific condition/injury that is affecting an individual, while we work on the total body (core, strength training, flexibility, nutrition, cardiovascular activity, etc..). The reason physical therapists work on a specific part of the body for an injury is simple. When someone is having a lot of pain in a particular joint, physical therapists role is to decrease the pain in the joint. If you have had a knee replacement and can’t move your knee through a full range of motion, they are going to do everything they can to increase the range of motion of that joint and reduce the pain. However once they have met the criteria of a particular range of motion/pain level, their job comes to an end. Medical Fitness Pros does not work with clients when they are in the acute stage of healing (immediately following a surgery when they are still dealing with extreme pain related to the surgery). When we work with people in pain, our goal is to improve your health as a whole as quickly as possible. If you are having some mild knee pain, our goal is to reduce your pain, help you exercise pain free, and in many cases, help you lose weight with proper nutrition and appropriate cardiovascular conditioning.
Is Our Treatment Appropriate for You?
In many cases of mild/moderate pain and corrective posture situations, our treatment plan can help you. On occasion we meet people that we refer to someone we feel is more appropriate for them to work with. However, in situations where the entire body needs to be strengthened, or the individual needs to lose weight in order to reduce painful joints, our program is very effective.
