Make Your Weekend Count

This weekend’s weather looks like it’s going to be perfect after the morning rains tomorrow.  So how are you planning on taking advantage of it?

I just checked the weather, and despite the dreariness of today, this weekend looks like it’s going to be perfect weather to get outside and enjoy.  So I started checking to see what types of activities I could get involved in while the weather is nice.  While there were several resources I listed yesterday to help you find activities, here are some more resources I found that I thought you might find helpful.

TexasOutside.com - Texas Outside lists several clubs and organizations that do outdoor activities.  They list things by category, such as biking, hiking, fishing, inline skating, running, canoeing, sailing, and soccer.  So if you are looking for something to get involved in to get you outside, this seems to be a great website for us.

Houston Area Parks - I have to be honest with you.  I know there are a lot of parks throughout the Houston/Katy area, but I haven’t been to many of them.  I found a great website that lists 57 park and outdoor areas.  It’s a pretty impressive list of places I would like to visit.  You could probably enjoy the change of scenery, and the kids or grandkids would probably love it.  Some have trails you could walk and others are just a park.  No matter what though, getting outside to enjoy would be a great idea after being stuck in an office all week.

If all else fails, I’ll probably play softball, volleyball, throw around the frisbee or even go on a bike ride (like I did last night).  Just find some way to be active.  You can enjoy physical activity.  It doesn’t (and shouldn’t) be limited to a gym.  Give a try, and if you know some other resources, add it in the comments section below.
