Fitness on the Road

I’ve done videos in the past about how to work out when you are traveling, but sometimes you want a real fitness facility you can use.  Calling all of the hotels in a city you are traveling to just to ask what their gym is like probably isn’t on your agenda though.  So what are some tools that you can use to make it easier to stick with your fitness plan when you are on the road?

Runtheplanet.com – While it’s not a website that lists particular fitness facilities, if you are looking for places to run or walk, this website lists thousands of trails that others have already mapped out all over the world.  It’s pretty easy to use and maps the routes of all of the routes that locals typically use.

AthleticMindedTraveler.com – This website lists hotels, restaurants, and places to workout.  All reviews are done by professionals, but they do charge a monthly fee to access some of the information.

HotelGymReview.com – This free website offers reviews by the general public of hotel gyms all over the world.  Participants can rate the hotel gym 1-5 stars and also add comments about the fitness facility.

All of these are excellent resources while you are traveling.  Make sure you bookmark them, and pass along this e-mail to someone else if you think it will be helpful for them.  (If someone sent this to you, you can subscribe to my newsletter for more fitness tips.)

I just got back from a week-long trip out of the country.  In some upcoming articles I’m going to share some things I learned on my vacation that will help you get in better shape.
What are some resources you use for finding health related information on the road?  Feel free to add them to the comments section.
