I’ve talked to many of you this summer. Some of you saw amazing results at the beginning and others of you are only now beginning to see weight loss results. No matter where you are, I don’t want you to be discouraged. The truth is, you can still get amazing results between now and the end of the contest. I’ve seen clients drop 6, 8, even 10 pounds before the end of summer. Here’s some tips to help you out:
1. Go back to writing down your goal and why you are doing this. – At the beginning of the summer I asked you to do this, but I have a feeling most of you skipped this step. Some of you e-mailed me and others decided they didn’t need to. For those of you that did, you may have walked away and forgotten about what you wrote down. Go back and read it, or if you didn’t do it to begin with, now is the time to go write down your goals. This should always be your first step when working on a weight loss program.
2. Write down everything you do (nutrition and working out). – If you aren’t writing down what you are eating, you are probably cheating on your program. That may not be the case for all of you, but for 90% of you it is true. If you are serious about losing weight, start writing down everything you eat. Also, take the time to write the exercises down that you are doing. By writing down your exercise habits you will stay more accountable, and you will have something to refer back to in the future.
3. Balance, Balance, Balance. – I can’t stress this enough. As you exercise harder, you often have to eat more food. I wish there was an easier way, but creating too much of a gap between how many calories you eat and burn will prevent you from losing weight. Balance things out to ensure you will lose weight. Creating a huge deficit in calories won’t speed up results, it will only stall your progress.
4. Make sure you are pushing yourself. – There are very few people in this world that push themselves in their workouts as hard as they are can. Let’s face it, it hurts to push yourself hard. If you aren’t pushing yourself as much as you know you should, get some help. Find a workout partner that will really push you, or work with a personal trainer. I’ve got a great program happening between now to help you lose weight. If you are having trouble pushing yourself and you aren’t seeing results, this will be perfect for you.
